On an emotional level,...You are absolutely correct. On an emotional level, it is much worse if God blinded them in the first place. Definitely takes things from bad to worse.Hausdorffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01690401058367596952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5509207392481380457.post-46025635643366320522013-02-09T10:40:17.446-05:002013-02-09T10:40:17.446-05:00Yeah Hausdorff, in the grand scheme of things, it ...Yeah Hausdorff, in the grand scheme of things, it does not really matter if it is God blinding people, or if God allowed Satan to blind people, because either way the net effect is the same and God was ultimately in control of the situation.

However, I think where it really is important is in the mind of the "common believer," so to speak, because I believe they use the whole "free will" argument to consider God as being not ultimately responsible for the judgement of condemnation because it was each particular individual who chose to reject God. Yet if God actively prevents people from being able to accept Him, then believers must come to terms with that fact. They must accept that God condemned people without giving them a chance to choose to love Him and accept His Salvation. And that, my friend, is very difficult to reconcile with the concept of a perfectly good God with perfect justice, because, as you say, it is a "dick move." :-)TWFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06016277303703254572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5509207392481380457.post-9718308417845465542013-02-08T13:19:28.357-05:002013-02-08T13:19:28.357-05:00I'm going back and forth on whether it matters...I'm going back and forth on whether it matters that God is the one who blinded people. On one hand, the fact that he is essentially taking blind people and punishing them for not seeing makes him a monster. Suppose it was, in fact, Satan who blinded those people, it's still terrible for God to punish them for it. He's still punishing people for things completely out of their control, really screwed up.

On the other hand, what kind of a dick move it is for him to actually blind them?Hausdorffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01690401058367596952noreply@blogger.com
